Blogging is a curious practice, dangling personal thoughts out into the universe. Will your thoughts be read? Maybe it doesn’t matter, sometimes things just need to be said, or sung, or shouted.

Oswald Chambers in his mega-classic devotional book, “My Utmost for His Highest,” adds an interesting angle, “God rarely allows a soul to see how great a blessing he is.” Ironically, Chambers never knew on this earth if his book would have any impact. It was published after he passed away. So let’s all just do our things for God’s glory, whether it is writing, hammering, computing or teaching. Your impact is probably greater than you know!

So welcome to my world, His world. Throughout my battle with Stage IV metastatic melanoma in 2002 and 2003, there were many times I felt like I was losing my grip. The good news I want to write about in this blog is that the entire time, He had a strong hold on me!

Psalm 59:16-17 - But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, For You have been my stronghold And a refuge in the day of my distress. O my strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.
