God Uses Early Detection Too!

Scott’s Journey with Male Breast Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will battle cancer in their lifetimes with 1.6 million new cases of cancer every year – just in the US. So please allow me to talk about how a cancer battle might start. Discoveries such as a new lump, or a growing skin lesion, or in Scott Hughes’ case … well, he’ll tell you in our Stronghold Ministry Video below, and please scroll down for more takeaways!

Scott had a red flag, a warning sign from God that there was an issue in his body. It’s a big advantage to know and act on early warning signs of cancer. I get it, who wants to talk about this stuff? As a Stage IV metastatic melanoma survivor who put off a lump under my arm for a month, I’m compelled to warn of the “unpleasantries” of a cancer battle and the importance of early detection!

Some consult only doctors, and not the Lord, like King Asa in 2 Chronicles 16:12, yet the opposite is also true. Some consult God half-heartedly and don’t consult doctors until they have a major problem. It’s true, doctors are far from perfect, but along with our fervent prayers (see James 5:14-18), God uses doctors big time! So don’t let covid, hassle, or embarrassment stop you from getting checked out!

We can boldly face anything with God! Scott fought off male breast cancer. He was blessed to have an opportunity to catch it and get treated early, yet I know not everyone has that opportunity. So please get medical help if you have red flags, and share this article and video with others to be proactive with our physical health!

Praying now for 100% total healing and supernatural strength and peace for all!

  1. I have been a recipient of your wonderful gift basket about 12 year’s ago now. I beat Malignant Melanoma stage 3A. Your basket was very helpful in my healing process. Thank you! I would like to share with you, that because of my Melanoma and all the chest xrays and blood work that I have had to keep up with over these year’s. My Melanoma Cancer saved my life! November 12th of 2020, my Melanoma Oncologist told me I had Lung Cancer. I had already went through several CT Scans and chest xrays and a lung needle biopsy. December 15th of 2020, I had my lung cancer surgery. He removed the whole tumor and told me I has just beaten Stage 1A lung cancer. So thanks to my Melanoma, we caught my Lung Cancer very early. I am recovering and just trying to take it all in. I thank God everyday I am still here. According to my Melanoma Oncologist, I shouldn’t have survived my Malignant Melanoma but I did and now I survived Lung Cancer. God is good and He is good ALL the time. I am stilled amazed at His grace. ♡

    • Dear Brenda,
You’ve given a perfect example of the point of my blog. I definitely remember you and your story and rejoicing with you that you remain cancer free from the melanoma!! And, that your follow-ups uncovered the lung activity and your doc got that out of there quickly! God is so good and HE surely uses early detection, as He did here with you. Amazing indeed. Blessings on you.
      In his Grip always,
      Joe Fornear
