In the beginning, I thought:
- “I’m going to beat this cancer.”
- “Cancer messed with the wrong dude.”
- “I got this.”
It wasn’t long before I admitted, “I absolutely don’t got this.” Stage IV metastatic melanoma was bigger than me. I was overwhelmed, scared, hurting, self-pitying. More than anything – I was disappointed … with myself. I couldn’t hang on to Him. He said, “Don’t worry, I’m hanging on to you!” He was and is my Stronghold.
Yes, God is greater than any cancer and He is on your side! (More here on how to know He’s on your side).
During this Easter season, there’s no better time to highlight Paul’s prayer for us to see and experience Jesus’ Resurrection power in our lives.
I pray the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know (experience) … the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named. (Ephesians 1:18-21)
This Easter, let’s pray for each other to experience the surpassing greatness of His resurrecting, overcoming power IN us!
