Why Don’t We See More Miraculous Healings Today?

1) We don’t ask! – James 4:2 says, “You do not have because you do not ask.” God wants our prayers to be conscious and intentional so we’re clear on Who is answering!

2) We only seek human physicians and not The Great Physician! – 2 Chronicles 16:12 says, “King Asa’s foot disease was severe, yet even in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but the physicians.” Humans are limited – God is not. Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Yet, we must invite “The Perfect Gentleman” into our affairs.

3) We do not believe He can or will heal! – Mark laments in 6:5-6, “He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. He wondered at their unbelief.” Jesus expected His followers to believe He not only could heal, but that He would heal! (Matt. 8:2-3).

4) We don’t follow His simple instructions on how to be physically healed. James 5:14-15 instructs us, “Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” Find a church with faith-filled elder-leaders and seek their prayers! Elisha told Naaman to wash in the Jordan, yet Naaman saw it as an inferior river, and he was not healed until he washed there! (2 Kings 5). I’m grateful my church elders prayed for a miracle for my Stage IV metastatic melanoma cancer in 2003 (more in my book in our free gift to cancer patients here). More reasons in future FAQs.
